SUMMARY:Veteran Painting Project
DESCRIPTION:UPDATE: Veteran Christi Tedder has stepped up to help me host and coordinate this project. Christi will be onsite at 1395 W 5th Street in Weiser at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday\, July 17 to get things started before the weather gets hot. Please contact Christi at 989-553-6633 if you have questions or want to contribute – otherwise just show up on Sunday with a paint brush in hand anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and we will put you to work. 😊\n\n\n\nPLEASE RESPOND TO ME IF YOU CAN HELP!\n\n \n\nI have a disabled Vietnam Navy veteran in Weiser that needs some help. He is one of those veterans that due to no fault of his own is experiencing a streak of bad luck. One of our Joining Forces professionals is helping him with a reverse mortgage which should alleviate his financial problems and allow him and his sweet wife to remain in their home. The one snag that came up (streak of bad luck) is the lender will not approve the application if there is any peeling paint or bare wood on the home. See pictures below taken in May.\n\n \n\nI sent volunteers out to power wash the house and all loose paint has been removed. New paint has been donated – we just need a bunch of volunteers to show up with paint brushes and paint!\n\n \n\nI will be hosting a Painting Party for this veteran on Sunday\, July 17 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at his home – 1395 W 5th Street\, Weiser\, Idaho. Please come out and join me for a little work and a lot of camaraderie. I know it will be hot in the afternoon\, but I won’t be returning through Weiser from Northern Idaho until that time. If anyone would like to take the lead on this and be there to organize a crew earlier in the day please let me know!\n\n \n\nPlease bring your own paint brush and a ladder if you have one.\n\n \n\nAny and all are welcome to participate!\n\n\n\nMitzi Cheldelin\nIdaho Division of Veterans Services\nCommunity Resource Coordinator\n“Caring for America’s Heroes”\nwww.veterans.idaho.gov\nCell: 208-957-3633\nFax: 208-780-1381\nMitzi.Cheldelin@veterans.idaho.gov
