DESCRIPTION:SAVE THE DATE: July 22\, 2022.\nThe City of Fruitland Police Department\, Payette County Paramedics and the Fruitland Fire Department would like to invite all veterans and their families to join us for our Second Annual Veterans Appreciation Barbeque at the Fruitland Community Park\, 505 SW 3rd Street\, adjacent to the Post Office in downtown Fruitland on Friday Night\, July 22\, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. We will be serving Hamburgers\, Hotdogs\, and Non-alcoholic beverages……\n\nMany of our officers are veterans themselves\, and we understand that many veterans sometimes feel isolated\, alone\, and may need help after their time in service. Tragically on average we lose 22 veterans a day to suicide. We want our veterans to know that we are here for them and that they are not alone. “Ride for 22” will be there accepting donations to benefit the families of veterans who have unfortunately fallen victim to suicide. Other organizations such as the Department of Veterans Affairs will be there to speak about services they offer which benefit veterans as well. We appreciate what you have done in service of our country\, so let us show our appreciation and serve you. Bring a chair and your family. If you haven’t been to the park before\, it has a splash pad and playground for you and your families to enjoy while you eat. We hope to see you there!

It is a 48 foot mobile\, air conditioned exhibit with a 24 foot person screening room that showcases the Wreath Across America’s mission to remember our fallen U.S. veterans\, honor those who serve\, and teach our children the value of freedom. SUMMARY:Idaho Women Veteran Memorial Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Upcoming fundraiser on Saturday\, June 11th for the future Idaho Women Veterans Memorial to be built at the Idaho Veterans Garden in Caldwell. Fundraiser will be at the Garden from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and will have live music\, food trucks (who are donating part of their proceeds)\, raffles\, silent auctions\, and a live auction.\n\nAttached is a flyer for the fundraiser\, a PDF of the brochure about the Memorial\, and a stand-alone picture of the future memorial with the link to the story by Marisa McCarter (Joining Forces member) which inspired the design of the Memorial\, and a donation form if you would like to donate something for the auction.\n\nNOTE FROM MITZI:\n\nI have the honor to serve on the planning committee for the Memorial. If you would like to donate an item for the auction\, please let me know – we have committee members in all areas of the Valley who can stop by your home or business to pick something up.
